Patchwork Soup is a primarily hand-crafted literary zine local to Rock Hill, SC. We seek to involve our contributors in the collaborative, hands-on process of preparing their work for presentation.Submit to our third issue now!

Events

Craft Day

After acceptances are finalized, participants are invited to join us for Craft Day, hosted at Winthrop University. Volunteers and contributors will have the opportunity to decorate the zine's pages with provided collaging materials and/or materials brought from home.We're currently planning for our third Craft Day! Viewing Party

A viewing party will be held at Winthrop University. Contributors will have the option to read their work aloud before an audience of friends, family, and fellow artists.We're currently planning for our third Viewing Party! Check back later for updates.

Submission Guidelines

Prose & Poetry Submissions
Applicants may submit up to three pieces of poetry, flash fiction, and/or creative nonfiction. Individual pieces should not exceed 1,000 words.
Please submit your materials in double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font.Submissions should consist of one document. Do not include your name or any other identifying information within the title or content of your document.

Visual Art Submissions
Please submit your best work to be considered for Patchwork Soup's third issue! Applicants may submit up to three pieces of collage-style visual art. Please submit your scanned materials as a PDF.
For submissions containing multiple pieces, please upload only one document. Do not include your name or any other identifying information within the title or content of your document. Thank you for allowing us to view your work!

We accept submissions of any genre, form, and style, from creators of all ages. We will not accept work published in other zines or journals (with the exception of Winthrop University's The Anthology). Work previously published through social media, however, is acceptable. We will not accept work that promotes discrimination or violence. Please consider including content warnings for particularly sensitive pieces.Submissions will open September 1st and close December 8th.

Paige is a recent graduate of Winthrop University, where she majored in English and minored in creative writing. Her work appears in the Oakland Arts Review. She is currently listening to "Red Museum" by Idiot Pilot.

Maddison is a grad student at Winthrop University, where she’s pursuing an MA in English. When she’s not drowning in the abyss—that is to say, doing schoolwork—she likes to write queer stories, overanalyze TV shows, and spend quality time with her betta fish.
